About Ireland

There are two main areas for caving in Ireland; County Clare in the Republic of Ireland on the west coast and further north in County Fermanagh around the border with Northern Ireland.

Although Ireland has a rich variety of caves in two large aras, it seems that neither area comes close to being as popular as caving in England and Wales. Many of the caves see few visitors and as a result are often over-grown and the rock is sharp, showing little signs of ware.

YUCPC have had two trips to Ireland; County Clare in 2006 and County Fermanagh in 2007. Due to the relative ease of access Ireland offers, there are likely to be more in the future.
